About the role

We are looking for a Customs Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist to strengthen operational excellence across our Customs House Brokerage (CHB) organization. In this role, you will combine hands-on CHB operational expertise with process improvement and technology enablement to design, optimize, and implement scalable workflows. You will partner closely with operations, compliance, and product teams to identify process gaps, resolve operational challenges, and embed sustainable improvements that enhance consistency, compliance, and productivity across CHB operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive adoption of technology-enabled solutions by aligning tools and systems with CHB operational needs
  • Analyze workflows, audit findings, and exception trends to identify and implement sustainable improvements
  • Design, standardize, and optimize CHB processes, workflows, and control frameworks across operations
  • Develop SOPs, procedures, job aids, and training materials to ensure consistent and compliant execution
  • Lead root cause analysis, issue resolution, and corrective actions for operational and compliance gaps
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business challenges into practical process and system solutions
  • Monitor and refine implemented solutions to sustain performance, compliance, and productivity outcomes.

  • Bring strong experience in Customs House Brokerage operations with end-to-end process understanding
  • Demonstrate ability to design, implement, and improve workflows in complex operational environments
  • Possess strong knowledge of CHB systems (e.g., CargoWise) and technology-enabled solutions.
  • Show proven capability in root cause analysis, audit readiness, and resolving operational issues.
  • Apply solid understanding of customs regulations, compliance, and broker responsibilities.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive execution.
  • Preferably hold a Customs Broker license, though not required.

Job type: Full-time

Location: New York/New Jersey, Maryland, North Carolina, or California (fully onsite, 5 days per week)

Travel expectations: None

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000

*The stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary and may be adjusted based on market conditions, experience, and location. Final compensation will be discussed directly with the selected candidate(s) in compliance with all applicable laws.
