Are you an energetic leader who loves building relationships and making a real impact? We’re looking for a Director of Dining Services to lead K‑12 food service operations for Geary County School District (USD 475) in Junction City, Kansas, serving approximately 7,300 students across 15 schools. You’ll oversee a strong frontline team and partner closely with a salaried Executive Chef, focusing on great food, smooth operations, and compliance with NSLP/USDA guidelines—all while creating positive dining experiences students enjoy.

This is a role built for balance and connection. Enjoy a Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays, while spending your days collaborating with school leaders, mentoring teams, and strengthening partnerships across the district. Key Responsibilities:
•    Lead, mentor, and inspire our team that includes an Executive Chef and strong frontline associates.
•    Drive strategic initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and increase profitability.
•    Recruit, train, and develop top talent within the organization.
•    Own the annual budget and control costs optimally.
•    Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
•    Build strong relationships with clients, customers, and associates. 
•    Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of a dining service operation.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Bachelor's degree in Food Services/Management/Hospitality/Nutrition preferred or equivalent experience.**
•    Five (5) plus years of foodservice management experience.
•    Strong knowledge of high-volume food production and (catering trends) is preferred.
•    Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed services experience.
•    Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
•    Proficiency in computer skills.
