Job description

We are looking for a talented Senior Cost Analyst to join our Cummins Inc. team in Shoreview, MN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Conduct complex cost analyses that strengthen operational decisionmaking.
  • Evaluate cost variances and recommend datadriven corrective actions.
  • Partner with crossfunctional teams to improve financial performance and inventory accuracy.
  • Lead inventory accounting activities, including physical inventory oversight and valuation reviews.
  • Support new product and Value Package Introduction initiatives with robust cost insights.
  • Prepare strategic financial analyses and present recommendations to leadership.
  • Enhance cost standards and reactive cost processes to improve transparency and accuracy.
  • Mentor and coach junior analysts to elevate team capability.

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Key Competencies:

  • Demonstrated capability in cost accounting, reconciliations, SBP reporting, pricing analysis, and sales reporting.
  • Preferred experience supporting AR/Credit functions, I/C payables matching, and OMCSrelated activities.
  • Strong proficiency in financial systems, data analysis tools, and inventory management processes.
  • Ability to operate with accuracy, urgency, and sound judgment in a fastpaced environment.
  • Skilled in financial reporting, forecasting, and applying US GAAP principles to ensure compliance and data integrity.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build partnerships, communicate effectively, and navigate diverse perspectives.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, adaptability, and proactive problemsolving.

Education, Licenses, Certifications: 
College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Progress toward Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification preferred. 
Experience: 
Intermediate level of relevant professional work experience in the field of study required.
