Position Summary:

The Management Accountant is responsible for leading the financial planning, analysis, inventory and fixed assets control processes, and governance controls over taxation, ensuring compliance with the ANSA McAL Group’s standards and policies, to support strategic decision-making, optimize financial performance, and ensure on time in full accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts to support timely and accurate internal financial reporting.
  • Analyze financial performance and variances against budgets and forecasts to identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for business improvement.
  • Lead the budget and forecasting process in collaboration with department heads, ensuring alignment with business strategies and operational goals.
  • Manage the inventory control function, including oversight of costing, provisions, reconciliation, and reporting in accordance with IAS2 and Group Policy.
  • Manage the fixed assets control function, including oversight of CAPWIP projects, additions, disposals and useful life review.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in the preparation of tax, statutory, and regulatory reports, including applicable state and federal tax submissions and other required filings.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies and accurate reconciliations of all balance sheet items.
  • Coach, mentor, and supervise the Accounting Associate and Accounting Analyst, providing direction, training, and performance feedback.
  • Drive month-end close-off activities to ensure accurate and timely financial information for leadership review.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives across financial systems, controls, and reporting to increase efficiency and reduce financial risk.
  • Develop management reports, dashboards, and analysis that support data-driven decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, HR, and Procurement teams to ensure alignment of financial and operational objectives.
  • Use technology and ERP systems (e.g., D365) to enhance financial analysis, improve reporting, and ensure data integrity.
  • Perform any other job duties as required to support departmental and organizational goals.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA, ACCA/CIMA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar capacity
  • Manufacturing, chemical, or industrial accounting experience (preferred)
