What is a channel partner account manager?

A Channel Partner Account Manager is a professional responsible for managing relationships between a company and its external partners, such as resellers, distributors, or agencies. Their main goal is to drive sales and revenue growth through these partners by providing support, training, and resources. They also develop joint business plans, set mutual goals, and ensure partners are aligned with the company's strategies. This role involves frequent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration to maximize the success of both the company and its partners.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a channel partner account manager?

To thrive as a Channel Partner Account Manager, you need strong sales acumen, relationship management skills, and a solid understanding of channel strategy, often supported by a degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce, channel management platforms, and certifications in sales or partner management are typically required. These abilities are crucial for fostering long-term partnerships, maximizing revenue, and ensuring mutual growth in a competitive market.

What are some common challenges channel partner account managers face when managing multiple partner relationships?

Channel Partner Account Managers often juggle several partner accounts simultaneously, which can lead to challenges in balancing priorities and ensuring consistent communication. Each partner may have different goals, sales processes, and support needs, requiring the manager to tailor their approach for each relationship. Staying aligned with both internal sales teams and external partners, while keeping up with product updates and market changes, is crucial for success. Effective time management, proactive problem-solving, and strong relationship-building skills are essential to overcome these hurdles and drive partner performance.

Job description

Our client National Quality Systems (NQS) is in search of an Account Manager. This is a remote position preferably a candidate on the east coast of the U.S.

About National Quality Systems (NQS)

National Quality Systems (NQS) is a healthcare SaaS company delivering modern clinical registry platforms for Trauma, Burn, Emergency General Surgery, and specialty programs. Our solutions help hospitals improve data quality, streamline verification workflows, and turn registry data into actionable operational and financial insight.

The Account Manager owns the post-onboarding client lifecycle for assigned NQS customers. This role is accountable for driving measurable customer success, supporting renewals and retention, leading quarterly business reviews, and translating customer insights into actionable recommendations for internal teams.

The Account Manager serves as a strategic partner to clients, strengthens long-term relationships, captures customer advocacy, and contributes to the continued maturation of the NQS account management program. This is a self-directed role with future leadership and supervisory growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the client relationship following onboarding, ensuring continued traction across all active workstreams.
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews, including performance analysis, insights development, and executive-level storytelling.
  • Monitor account health indicators including adoption, satisfaction, risk signals, and retention metrics.
  • Identify trends and patterns across assigned accounts and present strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Drive activities that directly support successful client renewals and long-term retention.
  • Capture customer testimonials, case studies, success stories, and reference opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Customer Support to streamline escalations and remove operational friction.
  • Partner with Onboarding to ensure continuity, knowledge transfer, and timeline protection.
  • Collaborate with Product and Development teams to channel client feedback and support feature validation.
  • Contribute to the design and evolution of NQS account management playbooks, dashboards, and operating rhythms.
  • Support conference participation, including attending and exhibiting on behalf of NQS as needed.
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation, reporting, and account status updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which may include customer support activities, onboarding assistance, or development-related workstreams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Professional experience in client management or in developing account management programs.
  • Experience with trauma programs, clinical registries, or ACS-verified centers.
  • Strong communication, influence, and relationship management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify patterns and translate insights into action.
  • High accountability with the ability to operate independently in a fast-scaling SaaS environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience with healthcare SaaS platforms or clinical quality data solutions.

Travel Requirements

  • Minimal travel may be required to support client needs, onsite reviews, or industry conferences.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with performance-based incentives.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
  • Career growth opportunities within a mission-driven healthcare technology organization.

Why Join NQS

Impactful Work: Build software that directly supports hospitals, trauma centers, and patient outcomes.

Purpose-Driven Scale: Support secure, HIPAA-compliant SaaS platforms used nationwide.

Remote Flexibility: Work remotely with a high-performing, distributed team.

Strategic Influence: Help shape customer success strategy as the company scales.

Competitive Compensation: Market-aligned pay with growth and equity opportunities.
