Job description

Sr. Manager, eCommerce Growth & Optimization

Join Us at Pura—Reimagining Fragrance for the Future

At Pura, we believe life is better when it smells good. Fragrance has the unique power to transform spaces, elevate moods, and create lasting memories. But we know it can do even more. That’s why we’re pioneering the future of fragrance, combining cutting‑edge smart home technology with premium, clean scents to create personalized, meaningful experiences in every home.

We’re not just a fragrance company—we’re on a mission to change the way people experience scent. At Pura, we are redefining fragrance as a critical element of design, transforming scent from an afterthought into an intentional, skillful component of every space. By blending artistry and science, Pura allows users to design their own scentscapes that enhance daily life and craft environments that feel as good as they smell.

Why Join Pura?

Our journey began with two innovators, Richie Stapler and Bruno Lima, and their shared vision of revolutionizing how we experience fragrance. Since then, Pura has grown into a company that sells a fragrance every 3.7 seconds, partnering with iconic brands like Curio, Anthropologie, and Disney. We’ve been recognized as the Fastest Growing Company in Utah, and we are passionate about making scent a core part of life’s most memorable moments.

Your Role at Pura:

This is a high‑impact individual contributor role at the center of Pura’s eCommerce engine. You will lead the site experience performance, conversion rate optimization, and commercial forecasting that drive how we grow—and how fast. You are analytically rigorous, deeply curious about customer behavior, and obsessed with results. You don’t wait for insights to come to you; you build the systems, models, and processes that surface them faster and more accurately than anyone else.

As a Senior Individual Contributor, you will work across teams—Paid Media, Lifecycle Marketing, Merchandising, Promo Planning, Engineering / Development, User Experience, and Analytics—to drive the testing roadmap, manage forecasting, and ensure we’re making smart, data‑backed decisions every day to drive the eCommerce business forward. You are kind, reliable, process‑oriented, and bring an ownership mentality to everything you touch. You thrive in ambiguity, move fast, and bring people along with you.

What You’ll Own
  • Conversion Rate Optimization Leadership: Own and manage the full CRO pipeline— from ideation through testing to rollout. You will determine what gets tested, prioritize the roadmap, partner with Development, Merchandising, User Experience, and Analytics, and make the final call on what goes live, when, and why.
  • Traffic & Conversion Analytics: Leverage GA4, FullStory, Shopify, Tableau, and other third‑party tools to deeply understand traffic patterns, conversion by channel, and funnel performance. Translate those insights into clear narratives and action plans.
  • Channel Forecasting & Goal Setting: Partner with Paid Media, Lifecycle Marketing, Merchandising, and the Promo Planning team to build and lead channel‑by‑day forecasts. Lead the ongoing review cadence to determine what needs to change, which levers to pull, and how to course‑correct in real time.
  • Forecasting & Projections: Provide daily & monthly forecasts and projections on first‑time revenue, returning revenue, new subscribers, new customers, orders, AOV, traffic, conversion, subscription take‑rate, and other key metrics—and be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of those models over time.
  • Reporting & Business Reviews: Support reporting for Monthly Budget Lock, Weekly Business Review, and Quarterly Business Review, as well as other leadership reporting checkpoints. You will be the go‑to for determining and communicating targets—traffic, CVR, AOV, new customers, and subscribers—by day, by month, and up to eight quarters out.
  • Opportunity Sizing: Bring data, modeling, and sensitivity analysis to bear on the initiatives competing for engineering and product resources. You will size the revenue and conversion impact of potential investments, build the business cases that inform prioritization decisions, and serve as a key voice in the roadmap planning process. You help the team make faster, more confident bets—and kill the ones that don’t pencil.
  • AI‑Powered Reporting & Insight Acceleration: Actively leverage AI tools to make data analysis, reporting, and forecasting faster and more efficient. You stay ahead of what’s possible and push the team to work smarter.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work fluidly across Paid Media, Lifecycle Marketing, Product, Engineering, Merchandising, and the Promo Planning team to align on strategy, share insights, and drive collective performance. You are a trusted partner who gets things done without creating friction.
  • Target‑Setting & Growth Ownership: Be a critical voice in setting ambitious but achievable targets. You will help define success metrics, track performance against them relentlessly, and surface the insights that drive action.
What You Bring
  • 10+ Years in eCommerce: A seasoned background in eCommerce with demonstrated experience driving significant revenue growth. You know what it takes to scale an online business and have the experience & accolades to prove it.
  • Data Analytics & Forecasting Prowess: You don’t just read dashboards—you build the models and forecasts that drive decisions. You are deeply comfortable with data, can build a multi‑quarter demand forecast, and know how to communicate complexity simply.
  • CRO Expertise: Proven experience owning A/B and multivariate test programs, managing testing pipelines, and translating results into meaningful site improvements. You know how to prioritize, how to move fast, and how to win buy‑in from technical and non‑technical stakeholders alike.
  • Opportunity Sizing: Demonstrated experience sizing the revenue and conversion impact of product and engineering initiatives—and a proven track record of using that analysis to influence what actually gets built. You know how to build a compelling business case from imperfect data, run sensitivity and scenario analysis to pressure‑test assumptions, and present findings in a way that earns credibility with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Tool Fluency: Hands‑on experience with GA4 and FullStory (or equivalent session analytics tools). You know how to use these platforms to diagnose friction, understand user behavior, and inform site strategy.
  • Subscription & Retention Experience: Background in eCommerce with a subscription model is highly valued. You understand the dynamics and interplay of subscription acquisition, churn, and retention, and know how to use data to improve all three.
  • Cross‑Functional Presence: Experienced working across functions including Paid Media, Lifecycle Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Merchandising. You know how to build relationships, align stakeholders, and drive outcomes without direct authority.
  • Character & Work Ethic: Detail‑oriented, hard‑working, and easy to work with. You bring an ownership mentality and are the kind of person teams trust to follow through. You are reliable, kind, and process‑driven—and you care deeply about great results.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Subscription Business Background: Specific experience at an eCommerce company with a subscription business model, with demonstrated understanding of subscriber acquisition, churn reduction, and lifetime value optimization.
  • Large‑Scale eCommerce Growth: A demonstrable track record of driving significant growth at an eCommerce company—you can point to meaningful before‑and‑after results tied to your direct work.
  • AI‑Forward Mindset: Actively using AI in your day‑to‑day work to increase speed and quality—whether for reporting, analysis, content, or process automation. You’re not waiting for AI to come to you; you’re already using it.
