About this opportunity

The Construction Management Intern with Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. will gain hands-on experience across active construction sites, project management functions, and preconstruction activities. Working alongside experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, and Project Engineers, the intern will support the successful execution of commercial construction projects while developing a strong foundation in industry practices and operations.

This internship is designed to provide practical exposure to field coordination, cost management, scheduling, subcontractor oversight, and safety compliance.


What you'll do

  • Support Superintendents with daily jobsite coordination, field activities, and project inspections.
  • Participate in safety meetings, jobsite walks, and quality control processes.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Track and document subcontractor progress, performance, and project milestones.
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project management activities.
  • Maintain organized project files and support compliance documentation requirements.
  • Participate in project progress meetings and provide project status updates.
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs, subcontractor bid reviews, and budget tracking as assigned.
  • Collaborate with project teams to support successful project execution from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Gain hands-on experience across all phases of commercial construction projects while working alongside experienced industry professionals.


What we're looking for

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or enrolled in a Co-op program.
  • Strong interest in construction management and a desire to learn about the commercial construction industry.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive, curious, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated leadership, volunteer, or extracurricular involvement preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to work standard business hours, including overtime as needed.
