Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Workday Configurator with strong hands-on experience in Workday Security, Payroll, Core HCM, Business Process Configuration, and Role-Based Security.

This is primarily a Workday Functional Configuration role rather than an Integration-focused position. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Workday configuration from both a functional and business perspective and will be responsible for translating business requirements into secure, scalable Workday configurations.

Key Responsibilities Workday Security Configuration
  • Configure and maintain Workday Security Groups, roles, and user access.

  • Configure and maintain Domain Security Policies.

  • Manage Business Process Security and role-based access.

  • Troubleshoot security and access-related issues.

  • Perform security and access reviews.

  • Ensure users have appropriate access based on their business responsibilities.

Role-Based Security
  • Design and maintain security groups and role assignments.

  • Review and troubleshoot security permissions.

  • Configure appropriate access for HR, Payroll, Managers, and other business users.

  • Support security audits and identify inappropriate or excessive access.

Business Process Configuration
  • Configure and maintain Workday Business Processes.

  • Configure approvals, routing, notifications, and workflow rules.

  • Configure security within business processes.

  • Support processes such as Hire, Termination, Compensation Changes, and Employee Data Changes.

  • Translate business requirements into Workday functional configurations.

Workday Payroll Configuration
  • Configure and support Workday Payroll processes.

  • Work with Earnings, Deductions, Taxes, and Payroll processing.

  • Configure Payroll-related business processes and security.

  • Troubleshoot Payroll configuration and processing issues.

  • Support compliance-related configuration requirements.

Workday HCM / Core HCM
  • Support Workday Core HCM configuration and functionality.

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into Workday solutions.

  • Support employee and organizational data-related processes.

  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and business stakeholders.

Testing & Production Support
  • Perform Unit Testing, SIT, UAT, and Regression Testing.

  • Troubleshoot configuration defects and production issues.

  • Support defect resolution and root-cause analysis.

  • Validate configuration changes before production deployment.

Workday Releases & Enhancements
  • Support Workday releases and new functionality.

  • Evaluate release impacts on existing configurations.

  • Implement configuration changes and enhancements.

  • Support regression testing following Workday releases.

Documentation
  • Create and maintain configuration documentation.

  • Prepare security and business process documentation.

  • Develop process guides and knowledge articles.

  • Maintain technical and functional documentation for Workday configurations.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Workday functional/configuration experience.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Workday Security.

  • Strong experience with Workday Payroll configuration.

  • Strong experience with Workday HCM / Core HCM.

  • Experience configuring Workday Business Processes.

  • Experience with Security Groups.

  • Experience with Domain Security Policies.

  • Experience with Business Process Security.

  • Experience with Role-Based Security.

  • Experience with Workday approvals, routing, notifications, and workflow configuration.

  • Experience with SIT, UAT, regression testing, and defect resolution.

  • Experience supporting Workday releases and enhancements.

  • Strong business requirements analysis and stakeholder communication skills.

  • Valid Workday Certification is mandatory.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a Workday Functional/Configuration Consultant who has significant hands-on experience configuring Workday rather than an Integration Developer whose primary focus is Workday Studio, EIBs, APIs, or integrations.

Candidates with strong experience across Workday Security + Payroll + Core HCM + Business Process Configuration are highly preferred.
