Our Vision for this Role

The Director, Finance Systems & Innovation blends finance, technology, and leadership to own and steward finance systems - ensuring that Flynn's are accurate, efficient, secure, and aligned with business goals.  The role manages a team of four and leads initiatives to modernize the finance function, including process redesign, digital enablement, data strategy, and organizational change. The Director partners closely with finance, IT and other business leaders to define the futurestate vision of finance and deliver programs that improve efficiency, accuracy, scalability and business insights.

 

What We Will Accomplish Together

  • Define and drive strategy for financial systems and related processes, including technology/AI enablement.
  • Create and maintain finance's process, governance, technology and product roadmap, including knowledge/AI products.
  • Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to reduce manual interventions and improve speed and accuracy.
  • Implement and monitor performance metrics and KPIs for systems, automation and transformation.
  • Lead the design, resource management, implementation and support of finance system and process solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend system enhancements.
  • Partner with finance leadership to understand reporting, planning, and compliance needs and develop programs and solutions that best address.
  • Benchmark team capabilities and performance against industry best practices.
  • Help establish a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across finance.
  • Develop changemanagement strategies to ensure adoption and minimize disruption.

What You Have

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or information technology; a minimum of 10 years of experience in a related function with at least some in a manager role.
  • An earned CPA, CGMA or CMA designation or a master's degree is preferred.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, as well as solid business and financial acumen along with expertise in financial operations, compliance frameworks, controls, reporting and systems.
  • Experience with system integrations, APIs, data architecture and process design and implementation.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem solving, collaboration and team leadership skills and experience.
  • You should be a self-starter and with an "Own It!" mentality and a high level of accountability and drive to deliver results and team success.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, concise insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, cloud ERP systems and database tools. Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI is preferred.
