Interns work alongside CFR staff and experts, contributing to research, event planning, communications, and administrative tasks. These internships are highly competitive and are designed to give participants valuable insight into the field of international affairs while helping them develop professional skills relevant to their career goals.

What are the big 4 internships?

The Big 4 internships typically refer to internship programs offered by Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Ernst & Young (EY), and KPMG. Internships at these firms are highly competitive and often lead to full-time employment offers.

Are CFR internships full time?

CFR internships are typically full-time positions, often lasting several months and requiring a standard 40-hour workweek. Some internships may offer part-time options or flexible schedules depending on the program's structure and organization policies.

To thrive as a CFR (Council on Foreign Relations) Intern, you generally need strong research, writing, and analytical skills, supported by academic coursework in international relations, political science, or related fields. Familiarity with databases, Microsoft Office Suite, and sometimes content management systems is typically expected. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude are standout soft skills for this internship.
