 What You’ll Do
As a Chief Financial Officer, you will directly contribute to LifeLink’s life-saving mission. 

The CFO reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for managing the financial operations of LifeLink to include maintaining creditworthiness and expansion of working capital reserves to keep the organization solvent and able to fund its own growth.  This role in responsible for directing overall financial policies and for overseeing all financial functions including accounting, billing/collections, cost reporting, contracting, financial reporting, budgeting, credit,  tax, cash management, working capital reserve, and investment management.  The CFO is expected to demonstrate expertise in a variety of fields, concepts, practices, and procedures related to overall business operations and strategy as well as using experience and judgment to plan and accomplish organizational and departmental goals.  The CFO will work closely with senior leadership and is expected to manage numerous projects and lead and direct the work of others. 

Key Responsibilities:

    • Provides the leadership necessary to ensure that the finance and accounting department remains a highly productive, goal oriented, efficient, and customer-service focused department.
    • Supervise a team of accounting professionals, including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, Tissue Bank cost accounting, budgeting and donor accounting.
    • Manages the high-level relationship with our Medicare reimbursement auditors and develops a strategic approach to managing reimbursement issues.
    • Manages the high-level relationship with the LifeLink financial auditors.
    • Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process, working closely with division and department leaders to develop realistic and achievable budgets. Monitor actual performance to budget, providing regular updates to the CEO and organizational leaders.
    • Evaluates and negotiates the business terms of key contracts and business relationships and manages the organization’s overall approach to contracting.
    • Works closely with the CEO and LifeLink management to support the process of establishing organizational strategies and direction.
    • Acts as the Co-chair for LifeLink’s Corporate Compliance program.
    • Develops strong and effective working relationships with many of LifeLink’s key business partners and advisors, including lawyers, bankers, auditors, investment advisors, and insurance brokers, among others.
    • Act as the Board’s, the Audit Committee’s, and the Pension Committee’s primary financial reporting and accountability resource and contact. Provide routine reports to the Board of Governors, including updates on budget performance, and financial risks and opportunities.
    • Acts as an overall financial business advisor to LifeLink’s top managers while focusing on improving service, improving LifeLink’s financial position, limiting business risk, and improving regulatory compliance.
    • Act as the overall business advisor to the LifeLink Legacy fund including the primary financial reporting contact for the LifeLink Legacy Board and Finance Committee.
    • Other areas of high-level oversight responsibility include:
      • Assisting with the annual audit
      • Issuing management reports and financial statements
      • Reviewing capital requests
      • Implementing operational best practices
      • Developing performance measurements
      • Identifying and eliminating control weaknesses
      • Formulating financial, tax, and risk management strategy
      • Arranging debt financing
      • Investing funds

    Who You Are

    • Senior level financial executive with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s Degree and CPA designation being preferable.
    • Minimum 10 years’ business, accounting, and management experience; such experience should include the direct management of professional accounting staff. Healthcare experience preferred.
      • Working knowledge and ability to analyze financial statements, budget preparations.
      • Knowledge of business insurance and risk management approaches.
      • Ability to interact with Board of Directors and Senior Level Executives.
      • Manage the treasury function including collections and cash management.
      • Working knowledge of Medicare and Federal Tax Rules.
      • Ability to effectively direct a staff of senior-level professionals including employees and consultants.
