What are CFLs?

CFLs, or Compact Fluorescent Lamps, are a type of energy-saving light bulb designed to replace traditional incandescent bulbs. They use a different technology that involves exciting gas with electricity to produce ultraviolet light, which then causes a phosphor coating inside the bulb to glow. CFLs are much more energy-efficient than incandescent bulbs, consuming about 70-80% less electricity and lasting up to 10 times longer. They are commonly used in homes and businesses to reduce energy costs and environmental impact.
