Job description

As a Compliance Monitor, you will handle various tasks to ensure member/partner compliance with food products, handling and safety requirements and standards set by the state of New Jersey, USDA, and Feeding America. You will make on-site visits to observe handling of products obtained from CFBNJ to verify compliance with food product safekeeping and distribution requirements outlined in the CFBNJ Partner Membership Agreement.

What you'll do in your role:
  • You will become familiar with and remain up to date with Feeding America monitoring standards, product safety and handling requirements set by the state of New Jersey, USDA, and CFBNJ.
  • Initiate timely communications with partners for scheduling monitoring visits and obtaining relevant documentation.
  • Conduct on-site monitoring visits to identify active or potential risk areas, and to address and resolve them in a manner that ensures operating compliance with policies and procedures as outlined in the Member Partner Agreement, NJDA Program Contracts, and other relevant documents.
  • Identify follow-up needs and resources and solutions from monitoring site visits and follow up contact with partners to ensure partner operating compliance.
  • Provide and maintain accurate reporting and records of monitoring site visits.
  • Provide regular compliance status reports and communication to discuss and resolve concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

What you'll need to be successful in this role:
  • A valid NJ driver's license and dependable transportation are required to conduct site visits.
  • Ability to work some evenings, and occasional weekend hours.
  • Must possess ability to evaluate compliance with sound judgment.
  • Ability to assist partners in achieving compliance with applicable standards and requirements.
  • Strong time-management, verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must demonstrate courtesy, curiosity and helpfulness that reflect CFBNJ values of seeking out, understanding, and responding to partner needs for serving and assisting their clients.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office 365, Teams and/or zoom, demonstrated familiarity with technology and ability to quickly learn and navigate new software platforms.
  • Ability to work well with people of diverse cultures and populations, Bi-Lingual in Spanish, a plus.
  • Familiarity with food and beverage industry standards, a plus.
