Cesar Ornelas Law is seeking a driven and experienced Mid-Level Litigation Attorney to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong litigation background who is ready to take ownership of cases, drive strategy, and advocate for clients through all phases of litigation. Our Texas offices include San Antonio, El Paso, Dallas, Houston, and Midland. Our New Mexico offices include Hobbs, Santa Fe, and Espaรฑola.

Requirements:

Essential Roles

The responsibilities of a Mid-Level Litigation Attorney include managing a litigation caseload from filing through trial, developing case strategy, and advocating on behalf of clients in court and during negotiations. This role requires a high level of autonomy, critical thinking, and leadership within the legal team.


โ€ข Manage a docket of active litigation cases from inception through resolution or trial

โ€ข Develop and execute case strategies, including discovery plans and motion practice

โ€ข Draft, review, and argue pleadings, motions, and other legal documents

โ€ข Take and defend depositions, including plaintiffs, defendants, and experts

โ€ข Handle court appearances, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations

โ€ข Collaborate with pre-litigation teams to transition and evaluate cases for litigation

โ€ข Mentor junior attorneys and support staff as needed

โ€ข Ensure compliance with all court deadlines and procedural requirements

Education and Experience

โ€ข Trial experience preferred

โ€ข Experience with legal case management systems (Salesforce preferred)

โ€ข Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
