Job description

Responsibilities

Acts as a clinical liaison between the Corporate IS Department and the BH facility. Performs duties associated with the implementation, support, and maintenance for all aspects of the clinical information system. Duties also include preforming basic computer and computer peripherals troubleshooting skills. This position provides problem tracking, resolution, enhancement requests, active participation in system testing, workflow redesign, change management, and ongoing Cerner education to facility employees and physicians.

  • Provides on-going support and management of clinical applications
  • Works with technical staff on WTS and printer setup, new Laboratory and Pharmacy devices, troubleshooting technical set-up vs Cerner issue.
  • Develops and provides training programs, documentation and manuals to clinical staff, medical staff, and physician office staff on the use of clinical information systems
    • New hire training and train the trainer educators
    • Basic knowledge of HealthStream LMS
  • Work in conjunction with the local IT Techs in preforming initial computer and related hardware troubleshooting steps
  • Triaging Cerner tickets. Determine if education item or if issue goes to local IT team, account security, or Corp Cerner Teams
    • Local Analyst is permission/position in service desk. Can only send tickets to Corp Customer Service
    • Manages and tracks tickets once they are sent to Corporate
  • Join Facility Clinical Informatics call, Fusion Nursing Discussion, CAB Monthly Education Call (CNO call as needed for Cerner specific topics)
    • Remains informed regarding new healthcare technologies and development, and participates in strategic information system planning for the organization
    • Works with corporate office and coordinates corporate-wide projects and initiatives related to clinical systems
    • Create facility specific tip sheets as needed
  • Schedule weekly rounding – participate in morning unit huddles or round throughout shifts to determine any Cerner needs or deficiencies
  • Log and manage enhancement requests
  • Reports – requests for reports, knowing where they are, how to run, when and how to request

Minimum two years direct patient care experience preferred. Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office experience required. Bachelor's required. 1 to 3 years experience.

Advanced working knowledge of clinical information systems (Cerner) preferred. Mentoring/leadership experience. Ability to collaborate with clinicians to discern software specifications, hardware requirements, and process improvement workflows. must be comfortable and confident interacting with physicians and clinicians at all levels.

Additional skills desired for the position include general IT knowledge that includes basic troubleshooting skills of computers, laptops, networks, and peripherals (printers, microphones, scanners, etc.)
