Job description

Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Cerner Millennium Pharmacy solutions (PowerChart, PharmNet, RxStation, etc.)
Collaborate with clinical, IT, and informatics teams to optimize workflows and medication management processes
Participate in Cerner application build, configuration, and testing specific to pharmacy operations
Analyze current pharmacy workflows and design system enhancements to improve medication safety and efficiency
Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions within the Cerner platform
Support upgrades, patches, and change requests while maintaining system integrity
Train pharmacists and clinical users on new workflows and Cerner Pharmacy tools
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., JCAHO, DEA, state pharmacy boards)
Assist with integration of automated dispensing cabinets and other medication technologies (e.g., Pyxis, Omnicell)
Act as a liaison between pharmacy departments and Cerner technical teams
Qualifications:
PharmD or B.S. in Pharmacy from an accredited program
Active Pharmacist License (U.S.)
Minimum 5 years of clinical pharmacy experience
At least 23 years of experience working with Cerner Millennium Pharmacy modules
Experience in Cerner application build, testing, go-live support, and post-implementation optimization
Strong understanding of medication ordering, dispensing, verification, and documentation workflows
Knowledge of clinical integration with CPOE, MAR, and barcode medication administration (BCMA)
Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Cerner certification (if applicable)
Experience with Cerner Command Language (CCL) and Discern Analytics
Familiarity with HIMSS Stage 7, Meaningful Use, or FHIR/HL7 interfaces
Experience working in large hospital systems or integrated health networks
