Job description

As the Senior Solution Advisor for Anatomic Pathology, you will be a critical subject matter expert and trusted advisor, bridging the gap between the client's laboratory needs and the capabilities of the Oracle Health (Cerner) Millennium EHR. You will guide stakeholders through complex workflow transformations, driving the successful design, build, and adoption of the PathNet Anatomic Pathology (AP) solution, and ensuring the new system enhances diagnostic accuracy and operational efficiency. This role is focused on strategic consulting, detailed workflow design, change management, and achieving tangible clinical and operational outcomes. To excel in this position, you must have a strong background in anatomic pathology informatics or Laboratory Information System (LIS) consulting.

The Work:

  • You will lead the translation of complex system capabilities for stakeholders, facilitate the lifecycle of change requests and incident tickets, and provide strategic recommendations on solution optimization and risk mitigation.
  • You will be responsible for defining interface requirements and assisting in security role mapping for lab staff.
  • Your role will involve close collaboration with key stakeholders-including Pathologists, Histotechnologists, Pathology Assistants, and LIS Managers-to capture detailed requirements, document design decisions, and ensure alignment on a cohesive future state.
  • Success demands a proactive, consultative approach and the expertise to champion the unique needs of the anatomic pathology lab.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Serve as the primary consultant for anatomic pathology staff and leadership on all aspects of the Oracle Health PathNet AP solution, including medical device connectivity.
    • Provide expert support and knowledge transfer sessions to enterprise councils, local workshops, and client-side solution experts to build their solution knowledge.
    • Work directly with client counterparts to facilitate design workshops, review deliverables, and drive consensus on workflow and build changes.
  • Solution Design & Workflow Analysis:
  • Lead the analysis of current-state workflows and design future-state processes for the entire anatomic pathology lifecycle, from specimen grossing and histology processing to pathologist sign-out and special stains.
  • Define interface specifications and requirements for integration with third-party systems like digital pathology scanners, voice recognition software, and specialized lab instrumentation.
  • Assist in mapping lab staff roles to system security roles and profiles and help define reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Implementation & Solution Management:
    • Act as a lead or driver for testing events, including developing and documenting scripts in an Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tool for integration, functional, and complex coordination testing.
    • Provide expert support for cutover planning, go-live execution, and post-go-live sustainment activities, including ticket management.
    • Assist in the review of training manuals and job aids to ensure they accurately reflect the configured workflows and system design.

Here's What You Need:

  • 3 + years of combined experience in LIS consulting, laboratory informatics, or senior-level anatomic pathology operational roles. Oracle Health/Cerner Expertise: Direct, hands-on experience with the Oracle Health (Cerner) Millennium platform.
  • 3+ years of experience in PathNet Anatomic Pathology (AP) is required.
  • 2+ years of experience with medical device integration is also essential.
  • 2+ years of domain experience in anatomic pathology laboratory workflows, including specimen accessioning, grossing, histology, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and pathologist sign-out workflows.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Certification such as a Histotechnologist (HT/HTL), Pathologist Assistant (PA), or Medical Technologist (MT/MLS)
