Job Description:

Due to our growth, we are seeking a talented Cerner Developer. This professional will determine customer needs, business functions and act as a liaison between the user community, operations and development teams. 

Primary Roles/Responsibilities:

Interact with the clients, vendors, and technical resources, including physicians, nurses, and ancillary healthcare practitioners.

Work both as a team member and independently to provide analytical support to customers on business application, infrastructure and technology related activities and to complete build.

Provide guidance, assistance, coordination and follow-up on complex problems and ensures resolution.

Analyze current business processes and systems to provide business process improvement ideas.

Conduct testing of application build.

Required Skills:

    3+ Years of Experience in:

Cerner applications, specifically Powerchart, is required.

Cerner applications, FirstNet, RadNet, Surginet, etc. is strongly desired.

Hands-on experience in Cerner development, including orders, power plans, charge tier, tasks and virtualization.

Hands- on experience in Cerner development, including but not limited to design and development associated with security, privileges and preferences, physician and clinic documentation (powernotes and clinical notes), nursing documentation (powerforms, iView), and discern rules.

Experience with Cerner millennium database structure.

Experience with Cerner Bedrock tools.

Experience with healthcare provider operations.

Analysis skills to troubleshoot production issues with customers.

Demonstrated knowledge of the business functions of a healthcare provider.

Familiarity with process flow, troubleshooting, HL7 interface.

Experience with the design, build, testing, and/or implementation phases of Electronic Medical Records (EMR), including CPOE.

Proficient with MS Office tools.

Knowledge of systems development cycle.

Experience in all phases of testing - unit, system, regression, integration and UAT.

Knowledge of SDLC/data bases/development language constraints.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills including the ability to work with both internal and external customers and all levels of the organization.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and timelines with minimal supervision

Excellent analytical, problem solving, and conflict management skills including the ability to manage conflict and find mutually acceptable resolutions.

Desired Skills/Competencies:

Meaningful Use Requirements - Eligible Hospital and Eligible Provider.

Understanding of general health information exchange concepts.

Training and/or certification on Cerner healthcare applications.

Experience with mPage and Dynamic Documentation development (HTML & Java) is a plus.

Ability to travel up to 10% in greater Detroit area to hospital locations.

SQL programming experience a plus.
