Shape Creativity & Empower Lives — Join TERI as a DSP-3 Ceramics Professional!


At TERI, creativity is more than expression— it’s a pathway to independence, confidence, and connection. We are seeking a passionate Ceramics Professional (DSP-3) to support individuals with special needs through hands-on ceramics instruction and meaningful artistic experiences within our Center for the Arts.

In this role, you will work closely with the Fine Arts Coordinator and creative team to guide students and clients in developing artistic skills, producing ceramics for display and retail, and participating in enriching, inclusive programming. Beyond the studio, you will also provide direct support to individuals, helping them thrive both artistically and personally.

Your Role & Responsibilities –

  • Develop and lead adapted ceramics lessons for adults of varying abilities in our Adult Day program.
  • Teach a range of techniques including hand building, basic wheel throwing, glazing, and other 3D art processes.
  • Create engaging, inclusive, and skill-appropriate art experiences using diverse teaching strategies.
  • Provide direct support to a small group of individuals, including personal care and behavioral support as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Fine Arts team to support programming, exhibits, community projects, and special events.
  • Prepare lesson plans and track client progress, maintaining clear and consistent communication.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe studio environment, including proper care of equipment and materials.
  • Manage inventory and assist with purchasing supplies within budget guidelines.
  • Complete required documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and program records.
  • Ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of all individuals at all times.
  • Participate in trainings, staff meetings, and ongoing program development.

Qualifications –

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Art Education, Studio Art, Fine Art, Ceramics, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a related field.
  • Experience operating ceramics studio equipment including kilns, wheels, pug mills, and hand tools.
  • Knowledge of ceramics techniques such as hand building, wheel throwing, and glazing processes.
  • Comfort supporting individuals with varying needs, including behavioral challenges.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging ceramics curriculum for diverse learners.

Salary –

$25.00 Hourly


Status –

Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 7:30am – 3:30pm
