THE ROLE
The Business Analyst - Data & Analytics will be an articulate self-starter who is comfortable working independently and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization. This role blends business analysis and analytics delivery, supporting Finance and operational teams by defining reporting requirements, developing dashboards in Domo, and helping translate business needs into technology solutions.
This position is responsible for leading stakeholder discovery sessions, documenting requirements for data and technology initiatives, and building reporting assets that enable data-driven decision making across the organization.
This role operates with a high level of autonomy and requires someone comfortable working directly with stakeholders to clarify business needs, define KPIs, and deliver reporting solutions that align with organizational objectives.
*Note on Location: Here at Avocado Green Brands, we treasure teamwork and working together in person. Depending on the role, you will be working on-site at one of our Fullerton locations.
*Note on Pay Transparency:. The pay range for this role is $60.000 - $75.000 Yearly.
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions with Finance and other business stakeholders to understand reporting, data, and technology needs.
  • Provide business insights to enhance and guide decision making to leadership
  • Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, and reporting specifications.
  • Facilitate discussions to define KPIs and reporting standards across departments.
  • Document current-state processes and identify opportunities for improvement through data and technology solutions.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of delivered solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between business teams and technology resources to ensure successful delivery of projects.
BI Development & Reporting (Domo)
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards, cards, and reporting pages within Domo.
  • Develop structured datasets and transformations to support business reporting needs.
  • Perform data validation and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy and consistency across reports.
  • Continuously improve reporting usability and ensure dashboards are actionable for stakeholders.
Data & Technology Initiatives
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, and operational teams to support data-driven initiatives.
  • Help define data requirements for application development and system integrations.
  • Partner with technical teams to ensure reporting and data structures align with business needs.
  • Stay current with analytics and reporting best practices to improve how the organization leverages data.
  • Support the broader technology team with various initiatives, projects, and improvements.
WHAT YOU BRING...
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst, BI Analyst, or similar role.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into reporting or technology solutions.
  • Hands-on experience building dashboards in Domo preferred (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar BI platforms acceptable).
  • Experience supporting Finance or operational reporting environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate insights.
  • Ability to work independently and lead stakeholder conversations with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and reporting consistency.
  • Ability to effectively communicate internally and externally.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Sit: Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time.
  • Walk: This role involves moving throughout the office and manufacturing space to meet with different team members.
  • Talk/Hear: This role frequently communicates with other team members to update on the status of a task. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
