Job description

Class A Driver

Avocado is currently looking for a Class A Driver to be part of the Operations team.

Note on Location: Here at Avocado Green Brands, we treasure teamwork and working together in person. Depending on the role, you will be working on-site at one of our Fullerton locations and travelling.

Note on Pay Transparency: The pay range for this role is $25.00 - $35.00 Hourly.

What You'll Be Working On
  • Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
  • Pull a towed weight exceeding 10,000 lbs.
  • Ensure trailer hitch is properly and securely attached to the tractor unit.
  • Transport goods from the place of origin to assigned destination.
  • Pick-up loads and organizes goods in an ordered, logical manner.
  • Ensure contents are properly secured inside of the truck to prevent damage.
  • Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected destinations.
  • Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with clients.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Class A driver's license required.
  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience with tractor-trailer driving preferred.
  • Clean driving record with no moving violations.
  • Must pass a background check and drug test.
  • Skilled at driving large vehicles.
  • Comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor-trailer.
  • Alert, focused, and detail-oriented.
  • Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Follow company safety culture and Cal OSHA regulations.
  • Report incident injury and hazard to managers.
  • Able to identify work hazard situations.
  • Following the company safety culture while performing the job duties required for the position.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
Physical Requirements

Driving & Sitting

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Manual dexterity to operate vehicle controls safely.
  • Sufficient vision, hearing, and coordination to drive and maneuver safely.

Lifting & Carrying

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to couple/uncouple trailers and handle related equipment.
  • Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and electric lifts as needed.

Movement & Posture

  • Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching.
  • Ability to enter and exit tractor cabs and trailers multiple times per shift.

Work Environment

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Exposure to traffic, noise, vibration, dust, and fumes common to transportation work.
