Job description

Heavy Mechanical Engineer (Central Systems) - On-Call Services

We are seeking a Heavy Mechanical Engineer to join our team focused on designing, developing, and maintaining central systems for heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering with a specialization in heavy equipment and systems.
Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing central systems for heavy machinery, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
  • Conducting research to identify opportunities for improving existing systems and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of central systems with overall machine design.
  • Performing analysis and testing of central systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance for central system-related issues.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven 6 years' experience in designing central systems for heavy machinery.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in heavy equipment manufacturing.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license for Maryland, Virginia and Washington area.
  • Experience working in the heavy machinery industry.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance techniques for central systems.
  • Advanced skills in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis.

Multiple locations in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
Main office located at WMATA New Carrollton Rail Yard, 4100 Garden City Drive, Washington DC

Salary Range: $45.57 to $59.61 HR
