POSITION SUMMARY

The Badging Clerkis responsible forissuing,maintaining, and controllingidentificationbadges for employees, contractors, and visitorsin accordance withsecurity policies and access control procedures.

PAY TRANSPARENCY/COMPENSATION

$21.13/hr.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet visitors in a professional and courteous manner and process visitorsin accordance withBAE-Radford Army Ammunition Plant governing access control.

  • Ascertain the nature of the visit, obtain necessary information to conductquery.

  • Upon the determination of the nature of the visitor and the visitor's status (escorted or unescorted), assign theappropriate temporaryaccess badge (or identifier that will be used by BAE-Radford) to the visitor.

  • Retrieve informationregardingvisitor entries and logs upon request.

  • Work is typically basedina busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions.

  • Business workhoursare potentiallyMonday-Friday from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm.

  • May berequiredto lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs.

  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.

  • Other tasks asrequired.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mustbe 21yearsof ageor older.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Mustpossessa high school diploma or GED.

  • Must successfully pass a credit & criminal background investigation to includepreviousemployment and personal references.

  • Musthave at least 1-2years'administrative experience with strong customer service skills.

  • Must be knowledgeable of general office procedures (e.g.filing, faxing, phone etiquette, preparation of correspondence and reports, and other related tasks asrequired.)

  • Must be PROFICIENT in Microsoft Office, Outlook,PowerPointand Excel.

  • Must be able to handle stressful situations and capable of staying alert during period of inactivity

  • Must be able to stand for periods of time.

  • Mustpossessmental alertness and reliable judgment.

  • Must be capable of clear and audible speech asrequiredfor effective communication.

  • Must be able to process visitors and issue badges.

  • Mustbe able to use basic office equipment and computers.

  • Must be able to write clearly andmaintaincomputer databases.

  • Mustregularly be able to work 8 hours per day and at times up to 12 hours per day.

  • Must pass a physical examination given by a licensed physician or health care professional.

  • Must be tactful and courteous when dealing with BAE-Radford personnel,visitorsand thegeneral public.


  • Must be able to obtain andmaintainUSGovernment Security Clearance.
