The Watch Officer position supports the client's Global Emergency Operations Center (GEOC) with the identification of crisis incidents that have the potential impact on client's assets and to support client's incident management process.
The GEOC is a fast-paced, collaborative and open floorplan operations center that requires the successful candidate to work effectively under pressure and to be aware of interpersonal relationships and manage them judiciously and empathically. This environment requires that the successful candidate can multi-task and rapidly shift task priorities to meet the changing operational requirements.
The successful candidate should have the following skills:
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prioritization Skills
  • Familiarity with MS Office basics (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Familiarity with world geography
  • Ability to analyze information from multiple sources and assess potential impact to client assets.
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and perform detail-oriented work.

The successful candidate is responsible for the following tasks:
  • Assessment of alerts to determine impact to client Assets. Alerts can be generated through:

o Subscription Based Alerting Services
o Open-Source Resources / Research
o Client Request
  • Staffing the GEOC's 24x7x365 hotline and responding to employee inquires and provide the appropriate guidance.
  • Creation and distribution of incident specific products that are distributed to stakeholders.
  • Creation and distribution of employee wellness checks through client's mass notification tool.
  • Contacting the on-call client proprietary staff member during the incident management process.
  • Monitoring and responding to emails sent to the GEOC Resource account.
  • Special event monitoring and product creation.
  • Creation and distribution of products distributed to employees with news relevant to travelers.
  • Following other standard operating procedures to complete daily tasks.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of security operations experience or previous experience working in a Global Security, Command, or similar 24x7 operations center environment
  • Must possess experience in basic security analysis, problem solving, handling preliminary inquiries, incident assessment, and triaging reports
  • Basic working knowledge of data protection policies such as GDPR and the need to keep sensitive information secure
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to incidents, particularly in emergencies, in a professional, resilient and timely manner with minimal supervision where appropriate
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD)
  • Must be highly proficient and fully functional in all Microsoft Office applications and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology
  • Professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion. Must have proven ability to maintain correspondence, discussions and materials in strictest confidence. Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Current state driver's license, clean driving record (no points in prior 3 years), minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and ability to safely operate a vehicle required
  • Professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, including with clients, while functioning as a team player required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
