Job description

Job Purpose


The Temporary Project Assistant supports a cemetery records reconciliation project as Forest Lawn transitions from paper-based records to a digital recordkeeping system. This role is responsible for verifying and documenting information from cemetery memorials, ensuring physical records accurately match office records, and assisting with the creation of accurate digital records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work independently outdoors for extended periods, and committed to maintaining a high level of accuracy while documenting information by hand.

 

Job Description

·       Verify and reconcile cemetery memorial information with existing office records to ensure accuracy.

·       Record names, dates, and other identifying information from memorials using clear and legible handwriting.

·       Identify and report discrepancies between physical memorials and office records.

·       Assist with the transition from paper-based records to a digital recordkeeping system.

·       Maintain accurate documentation and organized records throughout the reconciliation process.

·       Work independently while meeting daily productivity and accuracy goals.

·       Walk throughout the cemetery and work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.

·       Follow established procedures to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of cemetery records.

·       Communicate findings and discrepancies to project leads as needed.

·       Perform other project-related administrative and documentation duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

·       High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualification as an Administrative Assistant is a plus.

·       Proven experience in an administrative role.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

·       Excellent organizational and time management skills.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

·       Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
