Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc (CEC) is looking for an Electrical Designer to join our ย growing Manufacturing Infrastructure Services (MIS) team, in our Pittsburgh, PA office. Our Electrical Designer role provides you the opportunity to design the latest state-of-the-art facilities in a wide variety of markets such as industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, real estate, solid waste, power, and public sector. We are seeking self-motivated individuals with strong communication skills and a passion to apply your professional experience and knowledge in a team environment. We are seeking candidates with a technical associate degree or high school diploma with related experience.ย  Candidates must have proficiency with computerized design tools including Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with electrical engineer to develop electrical equipment layout, single line, embedded conduit, cable tray, heat trace, interconnecting wiring, lighting and grounding drawings
  • Evaluate and resolve problems by reviewing multiple sources of information and coordinating design criteria with other disciplines
  • Develop conduit and cable schedules and material take-offs
  • Provide quality oversight for electrical designs performed by others
  • When required, be the main point of contact for the electrical discipline when meeting with the project manager, other discipline leads, and the customer
  • Train and mentor less experienced designers
  • Generate electrical hour estimates to complete ongoing work and for new proposals
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Computer Aided Drafting required or High school diploma design experience required
  • 4+ years of experience working on industrial and manufacturing type projects
  • 1+ years experience working with AutoCAD and Revit, and Navisworks
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam preferred
  • Possess an understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Ability to work with engineers and senior designers to design electrical distribution systems at low and medium voltages
  • Proficient using Microsoft Suite including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Ability to perform field/site visits
  • Ability to travel (estimated travel time is <10%)
