Job description

Job Description At the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential, we are laser-focused on improving opportunities and outcomes for Michiganders from preschool to postsecondary. MiLEAP was created by Governor Whitmer in July 2023 and is the newest department in the State of Michigan.

This position serves as a student assistant in the Child Development and Care (CDC) program. Duties include reviewing files and reports for accurate and complete documentation and accuracy of payments, making collateral contacts when there is incomplete or inconsistent information, and identifying corrective actions needed

Student will work with the Billing Review Team to analyze data in order to identify root causes of errors and make recommendations regarding CDC program and operational areas for improvement. Position Description Required Education and Experience The student must provide evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an educational institution. Specific information on the education and experience required is in the job specification for the Student Assistant class.

Additional Requirements and Information Student Assistant positions cannot exceed 129 working hours in a calendar month and must be enrolled in at least six credit hours per term, providing proof of enrollment at the start of each term. Student Assistant appointments end the month in which the student graduates or is no longer enrolled in school. A Student Assistant position cannot exceed six years unless otherwise approved by Human Resources.
