What is a CCRC manager?

A CCRC Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), which provides a range of living options and healthcare services for older adults. They ensure that residents receive high-quality care and services, manage staff, handle budgeting, and maintain compliance with regulations. CCRC Managers also coordinate activities, address residents’ needs, and work to create a safe and welcoming environment for the community.

To thrive as a CCRC (Continuing Care Retirement Community) Manager, you need expertise in healthcare administration, regulatory compliance, and staff supervision, typically supported by a bachelor's degree in healthcare or business administration. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, facility management software, and relevant certifications such as CALA (Certified Assisted Living Administrator) or similar are often required. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills set exemplary managers apart in this role. Mastery of these skills is crucial to ensure operational efficiency, regulatory adherence, and high-quality resident care within the community.
