Job description

Outpatient Orthopedic Technician

This position is outpatient ortho procedures and casting only! Please read the job duties below. Please submit a formal resume showing casting and blood draw experience at the time of submission. Location: 2400 E Katella Ave Ste 400 - Anaheim, CA

Required:

  • HSD/GED
  • 1 year of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting
  • Proficiency in cast care, wound care, plaster and fiberglass casting and splinting.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries
  • Proficiency with injections/blood draws and venipuncture

Preferred:

  • Experience with PRP procedures
  • Experience with CS-Link/Epic
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans

    • Job Duties:

    • Apply and remove a variety of splints, plaster, and fiberglass casts, and request x-rays as indicated under the direction of a physician
    • Assist in complex procedures like pin removal and application of traction
    • Responsible for inventory, ordering, and receiving of all casting supplies and equipment
    • Set up exam and procedure room based on patient visit needs
    • Position the patient for the procedure and note the degree of discomfort experienced by the patient
    • Instruct patient in cast care, wound care, swelling, and how to remove and apply splints
    • Set up and prepare injectable trays and medications as per provider orders
