Coordinator of the Office of Catholic Schools
Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux - Pastoral Center
Houma, Louisiana
The Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux is seeking a faith-filled, organized, and mission-driven individual to serve as the Coordinator of the Office of Catholic Schools. This position plays a vital role in supporting the mission and daily operations of Catholic education throughout the Diocese by assisting school leaders, coordinating diocesan initiatives, managing communications, and supporting state and diocesan compliance processes.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting Catholic school communities through service, professionalism, and ministry.
Position Overview
The Coordinator serves as a key operational support person for the Office of Catholic Schools and works closely with the Superintendent, diocesan leaders, school administrators, faculty, and community stakeholders. Responsibilities include communication management, event coordination, educator credentialing support, state reporting assistance, international student compliance oversight, and support for scholarship and accountability initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for the Office of Catholic Schools and assist school leaders, families, and diocesan stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Superintendent as needed to ensure efficient project execution and daily operations.
  • Coordinate diocesan communications, including newsletters, digital communications, and listserv management.
  • Assist with educator credentialing processes and maintain certification records with the Louisiana Department of Education.
  • Maintain calendars, meeting schedules, hospitality arrangements, and event logistics for the Office of Catholic Schools.
  • Coordinate Catholic Schools Week activities and various diocesan school events.
  • Oversee SEVIS compliance and international student documentation processes.
  • Support schools with state reporting, accountability submissions, and beginning-of-year reporting requirements.
  • Assist with procurement, reimbursement, billing, and office operational workflows.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Louisiana scholarship and school choice programs, including LA GATOR and Tuition Donation Credit requirements.
  • Serve as a resource regarding TerraNova, BEACON, and related testing/accountability requirements.
  • Coordinate the diocesan Catholic Student of the Year program, including communications, judging logistics, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and support the digital presence of the Office of Catholic Schools.
  • Foster a welcoming, collaborative, and ministry-oriented environment rooted in Catholic values.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and digital communication platforms
