Shift: Part-time, 4-10s, 7 am - 530 pm, No Call

Position Summary

Are you ready to make a difference? As a Registered Cardiac Cath/EP Technologist at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, you will play a vital role in the care of patients undergoing invasive procedures. Working under the guidance of our Cardiac Cath / EP Lab manager, you will utilize your expertise to deliver patient care. Our team is dedicated to fostering growth and development for patients ranging from adolescents to late adults. Join us and be a part of patient and staff education while showcasing your leadership skills!

Cath Lab Highlights

  • Rapid Response: 30-minute response time for calls. If you can't leave your house and arrive ready to care for patients within 30 minutes, you will stay in our comfortable department call rooms.
  • Call Schedule: One night a week and every 6th weekend, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • Team Roles: Nurses scrub, chart, and circulate; Technologists scrub and chart.
  • Safety First: Required to wear lead during procedures to ensure your safety.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Graduate of an Accredited Cardiovascular School
  • Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Technology program

Experience

  • RCIS new graduates welcome!
  • CST, RRT candidates should have 12 months’ work experience.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with LLR (must be obtained within 1 year of hire)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist
  • Radiologic Technologist Registered

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Educator: Provide pre and post-procedure education to patients and families using various teaching aids. Serve as a preceptor to new staff.
  • Infection Control: Implement infection control principles, comply with hospital and department policies, and act as a role model in maintaining aseptic techniques.
  • Emergency Response: Be ready to respond within 30 minutes of notification for on-call emergencies, clocking in as callback for call procedures.
  • Technical Proficiency: Precept new staff in using the Witt computer system for documenting procedures, hemodynamic data, sedation logs, and inventory lists. Perform daily quality control checks.
  • Supply Management: Ensure the Cath Lab is stocked with necessary supplies and communicate needs to the inventory tech.
  • Clean and Ready: Maintain a clean and well-stocked Cath Lab environment.
  • Team Player: Perform other duties as assigned to support our dynamic team.
