Day Shift - 7.5 Hours (United States of America)
The Cardiac Cath Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily administrative, operational, and clinical support functions of the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology (EP) Labs. This role ensures efficient scheduling, staffing, patient care coordination, supply management, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and billing operations while supporting high-quality cardiovascular services.

Key Responsibilities:

Staffing Management:

  • Create monthly staffing schedules based on requests, leaves of absence (LOA), and pre-filled vacation schedules.
  • Seek approval for the schedule before posting.
  • Anticipate the need for overtime and per diem usage based on daily volume and seek approval accordingly.

Case Coordination:

  • Oversee the booking of elective and in-house cases for the case schedule.
  • Coordinate timing with anesthesia for cases requiring anesthesia.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding the day and time of procedures.

Patient Care:

  • Take patient assignments as needed.
  • Work with biomedical staff for equipment repair when necessary.

Supply Management:

  • Write requisitions for outside orders and monthly requisitions for devices (pacemakers, ICS, etc.), ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
  • Maintain files on each type of implant.
  • Complete forms for Medtronic rebates on devices, balloons, and stents.

Billing and Reporting:

  • Input billing information into MEDITECH (BAR and ITS) for catheterization (cath) and electrophysiology (EP) procedures.
  • Collect monthly procedural statistics for the cath lab and EP.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Serve as the coordinator for the PCIRS for the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
  • Work with external abstractor to submit data to NYSDOH, resolving any queries or issues that arise.
  • Finalize paperwork and obtain necessary signatures from relevant personnel.

Quality Assurance:

  • Gather point-of-care (POC) test reports on a monthly basis, making copies and distributing them as needed.
  • Follow up on POC competencies of staff to ensure compliance.

Radiation Safety:

  • Handle the recording and collection of x-ray badges for staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in office management or healthcare administration, preferably in a cardiology setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in healthcare, particularly related to cardiology procedures, is a plus.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000
