Cath Lab Registered Nurse at Houston Physicians Hospital

We are seeking a skilled Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our team. The Cath Lab RN plays a crucial role in assisting physicians with interventional cardiac procedures, monitoring patients, and ensuring optimal care before, during, and after procedures. This role requires strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work in a high-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  •          Assist in cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures.
  •          Monitor patient vitals, sedation levels, and overall condition during procedures.
  •          Administer medications, IV fluids, and contrast agents as needed.
  •          Educate patients and families on pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure care.
  •          Ensure strict adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols.
  •          Collaborate with physicians, radiology techs, and cardiovascular technologists to ensure seamless patient care.
  •          Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, procedural details, and any complications.
  •          Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations, including cardiac events.
  •          Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.

Qualifications:

  •          Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  •          Current Texas RN license
  •          Current BLS certification; ACLS certification required or obtainable
  •          Experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab setting preferred
  •          Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient management
  •          Understanding of aseptic technique and its implementation
  •          Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
