Off-site Catering Server

As an Off-site Catering Server, you are part of a team tasked to ensure our events meet the high quality service expectations our clients are hiring us to provide for their event. You must provide courteous and effective service by maintaining an efficient, clean, and helpful atmosphere while on duty. As a Server, you are expected to take direction well and be a team player. Servers report to Logistics and Services Managers and are under the direction of Event Captains and Banquet Supervisors during events.

Your personal responsibilities include:
  • Reporting to work on time and in proper dress code.
  • Following all Food Handlers and OLCC regulations.
  • Assisting the team in packing, staging, and cleaning for all events.
  • Upholding Sheild Service Standards before, during, and after events.
  • Acting as an efficient and strong member of our service team during your shift.
  • Maintaining a courteous and professional attitude at all times.
  • Monitoring food items to ensure quality of presentation and safety are maintained.
  • Helping with other duties/special projects.
What knowledge and skills Sheild Catering expects of all team members:
  • Strong and consistent attention to detail.
  • Ease in staying organized during a hectic situation.
  • Ability to problem solve in situations with high ambiguity.
  • Ability to stay calm and collected in periods of high stress.
  • Strong and clear written and spoken communication with the team.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transport to work.
  • Current Food Handler's License.
The physical demands of the position include:
  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to work during the heat of Summer and the cold of Winter as well as in other weather conditions.
