Job description

Creative Dining Services is looking for both full-time and part-time Caterers for our location at Indiana University Northwest in Gary, IN. This includes the preparation for and actual working of coffee breaks, receptions, and meals including set-up, service, and clean-up. Catering staff interact with customers/guests at events with professionalism, service and grace.

**NO PHONE USAGE DURING EVENTS**

Core Responsibilities

  • Sets up, serves and cleans up dining room as directed.
  • Cold prep and other duties will be involved with this position
  • Interacts with guests and customers at events with professionalism, service and grace, upholding the customer service expectations of CDS and the client/account.
  • Ensures all dishes, utensils, and other equipment from the storeroom are clean and properly returned to their correct place. Ensures proper lock-up procedures are followed and enforced.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 1-year minimum experience with food service and catering
  • Help with build-up and breakdown of events
  • Albe to walk/stand/bend lift for long periods of time
  • Understand formal dining table setting
  • Reliable transportation
