What You'll Do
  • Designing, developing, and testing high voltage switches, components, or systems.
  • Interpreting customer order information, drawings, IEEE, ANSI standards
  • Configure existing designs to meet customer requirements
  • Applying mathematical and engineering principles and methods to electrical system designs.
  • Contributing to research efforts to develop a solution or a new product.
  • Managing project design lifecycle from conception to full scale production - this includes component design, support with sourcing, support building prototypes, creation of test plans, and leading a cross-functional project design team to achieve timely completion project milestones.

What You'll Need to Excel in This Role
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited degree program.
  • A minimum of 1 - 5 years of product design experience with a strong preference to design of substation equipment.
  • Detailed knowledge of the limitations & capabilities of the following processes - sand casting, permanent mold casting, machining, and welding.
  • Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD and Finite Element Analysis through SolidWorks Simulation.
  • Demonstrated experience with bringing new products to market

  • Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, MS Office suite
  • Strong analytical skills with a high-level of attention to detail and business process
  • Strong skills in developing and presenting performance metrics reports
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with others
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data
  • Ability to prepare and present comprehensive reports
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including preparing and presenting information
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed as needed
  • WMS experience and knowledge preferred
  • ERP system knowledge (JD Edwards preferred)
