Job Summary: Under general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs general routine preventative maintenance and repairs to Odawa Casino Resort premises, such as buildings, grounds, parking lots and equipment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs general routine maintenance of entire casino, hotel, administrative offices, and other buildings as necessary or instructed.
  • Assesses and resolves any problems that arise.
  • Mows, trims, plants and waters grounds as required.
  • Maintenance of equipment and tools.
  • Observes areas for safety, and that all potential hazards are fixed.
  • Monitors and checks all building systems to make sure they are operating efficiently and safely.
  • Upholds the quality standards for the department.
  • Maintain knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
  • Assist OCR departments as needed or directed, including set up of sound equipment, stages, and tear down of functions as needed.
  • Assist with Waste Water Treatment Plant during off hours.
  • Adhere to regulatory, safety, departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains operational cleanliness of building systems related to gaming floor and back of house.
  • Provides oversight of Hotel maintenance responsibilities as needed.
  • Assist with repair and maintenance of irrigation system
  • Greets all guests and Team Members in a friendly, open manner.
  • Conducts oneself in a positive and professional manner, acting as a role model for all Team Members.
  • Attends meetings and/or training sessions.
  • Attend all meetings as required.
  • Complete all required training satisfactorily.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Work at other properties as needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License and be insurable through our insurance carrier. There will be occasional out-of-town and local in-town travel required as well as frequent traveling between buildings.
  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Must be able to read and interpret with good written and verbal communication.
  • Must be able to understand and use Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Must be able to operate a variety of tools and equipment relative to this position.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical as this position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, stoop, extend arms overhead, and carry weight up to eighty (80) lbs. or more.
  • Must be able to work well and tactful with both internal and external guests and have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently on a team with minimal supervision.
  • Must have flexible schedule for snow removal season.
  • Must be flexible with shifts and days off with the ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, special events, etc., as needed.
  • You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission, and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
