Job description

Join our industry-leading Business Banking (BB) team, a vital part of Consumer and Business Banking (CBB), where we provide innovative deposit, lending, and cash management solutions to the small business segment. The BB Sales Finance team reports into the Business Banking CFO and supports the BB National Sales organization to drive productivity and profitability through strategic and analytical support and reporting.  As a key member of the BB Field Finance team your work will directly impact key business decisions that help drive the business forward.  Your primary focus will be support of Cash Management field.  

 As a Financial Analysis Associate in the National Sales finance team, you will be responsible for reporting, expense and headcount planning, forecasting, and occasional ad hoc projects related to supporting cash management field.  You will partner closely with cash management field leadership and provide timely and accurate recurring financial reporting, business support and strategic analytics to help inform business decisions. 

This is a unique and high visibility opportunity for someone in early career to gain experience in financial planning and reporting and drive impactful financial support to our sales organization.

Job responsibilities:

  • Prepare timely recurring reports and materials used in business reviews and expense reviews, and ensure data accuracy through validations, reconciliations, and tie-outs.
  • Support monthly expense and headcount tracking and forecast updates.
  • Provide commentary on results and variances to targets.
  • Support senior leadership teams with internal presentations and business reviews, ad hoc business project and requests.
  • Partner with teammates and cross-functional contacts to gather inputs and clarify data. 
  • Contribute to automation and streamlining of recurring process.
  • Develop understanding of the role of cash management field and the way they support broader business banking organization.
  • Actively seek feedback to strengthen financial analysis and communication skills, and take on increasing responsibility as experience and proficiency grow.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field. 
  • 2+ years of work experience in finance, data analytics, business management, accounting, or a related role. 
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, comfortable working with numbers and data. 
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts in an easily digestible way.
  • Experience using Excel to analyze data and build recurring reports.
  • Comfortable with creating and updating decks for stakeholder reviews.
  • Proven track record of working with cross functional teams.
  • Dependable with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Possess a growth mindset with an interest in automation, analytics, or improving processes.
  • Curiosity and eager to learn about how financial insights support business decisions.
  • Willingness to learn advanced modeling and workflow automation skills and tools. 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Working knowledge of Essbase is nice to have.
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools such as Alteryx, Python, SAS, Databricks or similar tools is a plus - training on the job will be available if necessary.
