Interns typically assist professional case managers by helping coordinate services, conducting client assessments, and maintaining records. The internship provides exposure to the daily responsibilities of case management, such as advocating for clients, collaborating with service providers, and developing care plans. As a Case Manager Intern, you will typically work with diverse client populations, such as individuals experiencing homelessness, those with mental health or substance use challenges, families in crisis, or at-risk youth, depending on the organization's focus. Your caseload may include conducting client intakes, helping create care plans, and connecting clients with community resources. You'll collaborate closely with social workers, healthcare professionals, and other service providers, gaining firsthand experience managing cases and supporting clients toward stability.
