THE POSITION

As an Aging Case Aide 2 with the Wayne County Area Agency on Aging, you will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and support older adults who benefit from your assistance. Within this position, you will build strong relationships with participants while helping them stay active and engaged. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will provide daily support to older adults through personal care, meal assistance, and activity participation in the Senior Center and Adult Daily Living Center. As a Aging Case Aide 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Personal Care Support: Assist individuals with hygiene routines, mobility needs, and basic daily tasks
  • Meal and Activity Help: Support food preparation, meal service, and recreational programs for participants
  • Program Safety Practices: Follow lifting procedures, report incidents, and apply safety and emergency methods
  • Administrative Assistance: Update displays, help with forms, and support outreach and counseling activities
  • Center Operations: Guide participants during arrival and departure and assist staff with center tasks

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overnight and out-of-county travel for meetings or training may be required.
  • Coverage at other senior centers or satellite may also be required.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Aging Case Aide 1; or
  • Two years of public contact work, including one year in a human services program; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
