Position Summary

NOVO Health Services is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Linen Distribution Technician to support the Exchange Cart Program at Baptist Health Lexington. This position is responsible for maintaining linen inventory levels throughout the hospital by exchanging, replenishing, and transporting linen carts to designated departments. The Linen Distribution Technician plays a critical role in ensuring caregivers have consistent access to clean linen needed to support patient care and daily hospital operations.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesExchange Cart Management
  • Perform scheduled exchange cart deliveries throughout the hospital according to established routes and service schedules.
  • Remove depleted linen carts and replace them with fully stocked carts.
  • Ensure carts are stocked accurately to established par levels before distribution.
  • Verify cart contents and report discrepancies or shortages.
Linen Distribution Operations
  • Deliver clean linen to assigned departments and patient care areas.
  • Collect soiled linen and transport it to designated storage or collection areas following infection prevention guidelines.
  • Maintain proper linen inventory levels in exchange carts, linen rooms, and supply locations.
  • Respond promptly to additional linen requests from hospital departments.
Inventory & Quality Control
  • Monitor linen utilization and identify opportunities to reduce linen loss and waste.
  • Report inventory shortages, damaged linen, misplaced inventory, or operational concerns to supervisors.
  • Conduct routine inspections of carts, storage areas, and distribution locations for cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and linen utilization audits.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all Baptist Health and NOVO Health Services policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to OSHA regulations, infection prevention standards, and safe work practices.
  • Properly handle soiled linen in accordance with healthcare guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Utilize proper body mechanics and equipment handling techniques during all transportation activities.
Customer Service
  • Provide professional and courteous service to nursing units, support departments, and hospital staff.
  • Build positive working relationships with hospital team members.

QualificationsRequired
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
