Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Golf Services Manager and/or Golf Services Supervisor – Golf Services Starter is an entry level position where you will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of the bag drop area, cart storage area and driving range. Cleaning and storage of golf carts, rental club, driving range amenities. This position is a key member of the Golf Operations team whose goal is to exceed and anticipate the expectations of our guests. As a team member of Silvertip Resort, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining a healthy and safe working environment for all employees and guests.

  • Greeting and interacting with any guests you encounter - with a smile.
  • Keeping all equipment and work areas clean and safe and in proper working order at all times.
  • Ensuring golfers start at their assigned tee time.
  • Ensuring all golfers have checked in and paid their green fees before teeing off.
  • Delivering the first tee speech to all groups.
  • Ensuring guests understand golf cart operation.
  • Ensuring golfers understand how to correctly use the GPS and fairway targets.
  • Monitoring pace of play.
  • Knowledge of the golf course, golf rates and golf shop product.
  • Ensuring all guests meet the dress code requirements of Silvertip Resort.
  • Maintaining radio contact with the Golf Shop, Golf Services Attendants, and Ambassadors to ensure a smooth and timely tee sheet and operations.
  • Handling and report all on-course incidents when required.
  • Following all on-course wildlife procedures.
  • Moving and replacing cart control barriers and directional signage as necessary.
  • Assisting golfers with any lost clubs or cart issues they may have while on the golf course.
  • Placement of on-course set-up, signage and vehicles as assigned by the Golf Event Coordinator.
  • Listening to guests' feedback and ensure a Manager is involved when necessary.
  • Inspecting golf carts for any damage.
  • Handling all guests' special requests in a professional manner.
  • Keeping up-to-date information on all Silvertip Resort promotions and incentives.
  • Following the opening and closing procedures.
  • Attending meetings and training courses as required.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum age 15 years old
  • High school diploma or GED an asset
  • Lift up to 50lbs occasionally, 30lbs frequently, and 20lbs constantly
  • Capable of operating machinery and equipment
  • Ability to work flexible hours including some split shifts, early mornings and late evenings, weekends, and some holidays
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment within your department
  • Follow all Health and Safety procedures
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Salary: $17.00 per hour starting
