The organization emphasizes professionalism, safety, and quality employees, backed by a Certified Director of Safety and a fully staffed in-house maintenance team. Laufer Trucking is also partnered with its sister company, Wacker Drive Logistics & Warehouse, a full-service 185,000 sq ft warehouse facility located in Hartford.


This role is for the brokerage arm of Laufer Trucking - LT2 Logistics. LT2 Logistics specializes in expedited freight and is a relatively new, but growing business. We are looking for the next asset for our team to be a catalyst for growth.


Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Freight Broker / Sales role based in Hartford, WI. The role involves sourcing and securing freight opportunities, negotiating rates, and matching customer freight with available carrier capacity. The Freight Broker / Sales professional will build and manage customer and carrier relationships, coordinate dispatching and load tracking, and ensure timely communication on shipment status. Daily responsibilities include preparing quotes, entering and updating load information in internal systems, and collaborating with customers and carrier dispatch teams to resolve issues and maintain service quality. The role also includes identifying new business opportunities, supporting account growth, and contributing to a culture of safety, reliability, and strong customer service.


This role is hybrid between work from home and in office.


Pay is based on experience and qualifications. We offer a full benefits package including health, dental, vision insurances, vacation pay, holiday pay and 401k plan.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in Freight Brokerage and general Brokerage activities, including rate negotiation and carrier procurement.
  • Strong Customer Service abilities focused on clear communication, problem solving, and maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Experience in coordinating loads, managing schedules, and monitoring shipment progress.
  • Account Management skills to develop, retain, and grow customer and carrier accounts.
  • Knowledge of trucking, logistics, or transportation operations and basic understanding of regional freight markets.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, transportation management software, and standard office applications.
  • Effective organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in freight brokerage, trucking sales, or logistics is preferred but not required; relevant training or certification is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, logistics, or a related field is beneficial.
