Essential Responsibilities:
  • Checks and verifies facility security and safety by locking doors, windows and gates; and reports unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  • Cleans facility by performing such duties as sweeping and dusting rooms and hallways; washing furniture, floors, walls; scrubbing and waxing floors and shampooing carpets; picking up litter and trash; cleaning restrooms.
  • Maintains appearance and safety of grounds by performing such duties as sweeping debris and shoveling snow from sidewalks and spreading salt; cutting the grass; trimming trees and shrubs; watering landscaping plants, etc.
  • Maintains cleanliness in classrooms, including but not limited to trash cans, desks and chairs, white boards, windows, and other classroom surfaces and equipment.
  • Maintains cleanliness in restrooms, including but not limited to trash cans and receptacles, toilets and urinals, sinks, mirrors, stalls/dividers, sweep and mop floors
  • Performs minor maintenance to the building and facility such as changing and cleaning lights; replacing vacuum cleaner belts; unstopping toilets and water fountains; changing ceiling tiles.
  • Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors.
  • Maintains and cares for assigned work equipment and work areas.
  • Loads or unloads supplies/equipment and moves furniture, as required.
  • Assists school and facility personnel with moving school related items; distributing supplies, materials and equipment; and assembling and installing furniture and equipment.
  • The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substances abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the corporation.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to work off ladders, and at heights
  • Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds and on occasion be able to lift 50-100 pounds
  • Ability to interact with staff, students, and community members in a professional and courteous manner.
