Carpet Installer Subcontractor

Floor Coverings International of Boulder

Boulder, CO • On-site

$25/hr

Contractor

Posted 22 days ago

Job description

Floor Coverings International Boulder is looking to add a skilled carpet installation subcontractor to our installation network. We are a locally owned flooring company serving Boulder County and surrounding communities, and we are looking for installers who take pride in their craft, communicate professionally, and are willing to represent our brand at a high level in our customers homes.
This is a subcontractor opportunity, not a W-2 employee position. We pay fair market rates by the square yard for material handled, and we work hard to treat our subcontractor partners with the same respect, communication, and professionalism we expect from our internal team.
What Were Looking For
We are looking for an experienced carpet installer who can handle a wide range of residential carpet installations, including:
  • Basic residential carpet, including polyester products
  • Pattern carpet installation
  • Wool carpet installation
  • Stair work, including wrapped stairs, Hollywood stairs, and custom applications
  • High-end residential projects where detail, cleanliness, and professionalism matter
Wool carpet experience is especially important. We regularly work with higher-end carpet products and are specifically looking to expand our capacity with installers who are comfortable handling wool properly.
Professional Standards
Because our installation crews are often the final and most visible part of the customer experience, professionalism is critical. We are looking for subcontractors who understand that they are representing Floor Coverings International while on site.
Requirements include:
  • Well-maintained work vehicle, ideally with no competing company logos
  • Clean, professional appearance on job sites
  • Respectful communication with customers, team members, and other trades
  • At least one English-speaking installer on every job
  • Strong job-site cleanliness standards
  • Ability to follow scope of work details and communicate questions before problems arise
  • Willingness to represent our brand with care, professionalism, and accountability
Required Credentials
All subcontractors must be able to provide:
  • Proof of commercial general liability insurance
  • Proof of workers compensation insurance
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • References or examples of prior carpet installation work
  • Confirmation that all crew members are legally authorized to work
Ideal Candidate
The ideal subcontractor is someone who is highly skilled, reliable, and looking to build a long-term relationship with a growing flooring company. We value installers who take pride in craftsmanship, show up prepared, communicate clearly, and care about the customer experience as much as the finished installation.
We are not looking for the lowest-cost installer. We are looking for quality partners who want consistent work, clear expectations, fair pay, and a professional relationship built on trust.
Compensation
Compensation is paid at fair market rates by the square yard for material handled, based on project type and scope. Rates may vary depending on installation complexity, including stairs, pattern carpet, wool carpet, custom work, or additional prep requirements.
About Floor Coverings International Boulder
Floor Coverings International Boulder is a locally owned flooring company focused on craftsmanship, accountability, customer experience, and long-term relationships. Our mobile showroom model allows us to bring flooring samples directly to customers and provide a more personal, consultative experience.
We take our subcontractor relationships seriously and aim to work with crews who feel like an extension of our internal team.

This is a remote position.
