Shop Carpenter foreman – Modular ConstructionPosition Overview is seeking an experienced and motivated Carpenter Foreman to oversee daily operations in our modular/container fabrication facility while actively participating in shop work alongside the production team. The successful candidate will supervise daily activities, coordinate manpower, ensure quality standards are maintained, and support production schedules in a hands-on environment. This position is ideal for a strong carpenter with leadership abilities who enjoys working directly on the floor alongside the team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: - Supervise and coordinate daily shop operations and production activities - Actively participate in shop work and support fabrication crews as required - Manage and mentor shop personnel and subcontractors - Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to schedule - Read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications - Coordinate workflow between steel, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and finishing - departments - Monitor productivity, quality control, and workmanship standards - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures - Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and shop logistics - Participate in production planning meetings and provide schedule updates - Troubleshoot production and fabrication issues directly on the shop floor - Lead by example through active involvement in day-to-day operations - Lead and participate in the assembly and fabrication of modular/container structures - Support carpentry crews through all stages of production and assembly - Coordinate material handling and shop organization Qualifications: - Minimum 3 years of experience in carpentry and construction - Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach - Ability to work physically in a shop environment when needed - Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications - Good organizational and problem-solving abilities - Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously - Knowledge of construction health and safety standards - ASP Construction Card required - Forklift, lift platform, or other equipment certifications are considered an asset - Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset - Previous experience in a foreman or leadership role is considered an asset - Strong hands-on carpentry and assembly skills - Experience in modular or container construction is considered an asset What We Offer: - Competitive hourly salary between $30 and $60/hour , depending on experience - Group insurance benefits - Dental insurance coverage - Paid vacation and holidays - Company events and team activities - Dynamic and growing work environment
