The Full Charge Bookkeeper/Small Business Accountant
Fast-casual Caribbean restaurant with multiple locations in the Silicon Valley area is seeking accounting candidate in our San Jose location.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a candidate who works efficiently without sacrificing accuracy. The Full Charge Bookkeeper/Small Business Accountant can
expect to work with large amounts of numerical data, handle multiple tasks with deadlines, and provide transparent and complete reports to
management. You should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations.To ensure success, the candidate should be prompt, honest, detail-oriented, professional, and analytical. Top candidates will have the ability to successfully communicate complex quantitative data to decision makers.
Activities & Responsibilities:
Transactions
  • Record and reconcile daily restaurant sales and audit the daily
  • sales reports for inaccuracies.
  • Bookkeeping along with the revenue of a restaurant comes all the
  • expenses including payroll and costs.
  • Complete cash accounting, and invoice processing for the all locations.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and sales tax filings
  • Maintain and process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple clients and deadlines
  • work experience closing the books monthly and generating month-end financials

Reporting
  • Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and P&L reports, accounting reports weekly and monthly to managers.
  • Revenue and expenditure variance analysis and establishes company budgets and metrics
  • Establishes and enforces proper accounting methods, policies, and principles, and completes audits as needed.
  • Provide financial analysis as needed for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report 
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in working with QuickBooks Enterprise Software
  • 5 years’ experience in general accounting
  • Accounting degree or certification
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks, Bookkeeping, and Data Entry
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, v-lookups, data extracts, etc.)
  • Detailed oriented, organized, and manages time well
  • Experience of filling sales tax and dealing with tax authorities in resolving various issues
  • Ability to work effectively with managers to maintain service and quality standards.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and reports to other team members
