The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Financial Analyst reporting to the Manager, Tech Finance Capital Projects.

This position sits on-site in Miramar, FL.

The position is also not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.

Position Summary:

The Financial / Data Analyst role includes partnering with the IT Senior Financial Analysts, IT operational staff, and Technology Procurement organization to successfully forecast, plan, report, and account for financial activities while leveraging data analysis to improve visibility, decision-making, and process efficiency.

The position involves performing financial activities including requisition/PO review and approval, planning and forecasting of capital expenditure, forecast-to-actual variance analysis, and the use of data tools to identify trends, improve reporting, and support automation of recurring finance processes.

The candidate should have an academic background in finance, accounting, data analytics, or a related field, with at least one year of applicable experience in a medium to large-sized company and an interest in combining financial analysis with process modernization and automation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve spend requisition requests (capital projects and operating expense) by operating team. Includes confirming approved funding and comparing to forecasts/budgets as well as validation of whether capital activity can be capitalized (set guidelines) or expensed. Working with IT Senior Financial Analysts, spend owners, and Procurement organization.  
  • Prepare monthly forecast of assigned projects and variance explanations.
  • Work with IT Senior Financial Analysts to assist with collection of important quarterly financial documents from operating team.
  • Consolidate quarterly reports and ensure timely completion and submission to Fixed Assets team.
  • Work directly with PMs to update spend curves monthly to ensure accurate forecasting of spend.
  • Closely monitor assigned project expenses and proactively communicate with project owners of any potential issues.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analyses.
    • Analyze project financial and operational data to identify spending trends, forecast risks, timing differences, and opportunities to improve forecast accuracy and management visibility.
  • Develop and maintain recurring reports, dashboards, and visualizations that support capital project tracking, variance analysis, and executive reporting.
  • Support process improvement and automation initiatives by helping standardize data sources, streamline recurring analyses, and reduce manual reporting through the use of advanced Excel, reporting tools, or other approved analytics solutions.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years related work experience with medium to large-sized company.
  • Experience applying finance and accounting principles is essential. 
  • I.T. Finance or technology-related experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley controls and testing a plus.
  • Experience with JD Edwards/Oracle and Tungsten financial applications is highly preferred.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organization, verbal & written communication skills.
  • Fluent (written and verbal) in English language.
  • Must have strong spreadsheet, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large data sets and translate findings into actionable financial insights.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms is a plus.
    • Experience using data analysis, reporting automation, or query tools (such as Power Query, SQL, Python, or similar technologies) to improve efficiency, standardize reporting, or support decision-making is a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work under tight timelines, prioritizing assignments as needed.
  • Must work independently with tasks assigned.
  • Must be able to type proficiently.
