This role is based at Cargill's Global Headquarters in Wayzata, Minnesota or Wichita, Kansas and currently offers a hybrid work environment.

Job Purpose and Impact
  • The Product Costing Senior Analyst in Food North America job performs complex cost accounting activities to inform business decision making. This job leads the costing process of a complex costing business, including monitoring and identifying deviation, guiding multiple areas to implement solutions and answering business requests. With minimal supervision, this job analyses, develops and reports on the costs associated with the production of goods or services within the organization to identify insights and enable the optimization of cost efficiency. This job also partners closely with cross functional teams to ensure accurate cost allocation, process optimization and implements cost saving opportunities.
Key Accountabilities
  • COST VARIANCE ANALYSIS: Analyses, reviews and reconciles cost variances, comparing actual costs to budgeted costs and analysing any variance to gain insights into the efficiency and effectiveness of cost management practices, find opportunities for improvement and inform decisions to control costs.
  • DOCUMENTATION: Reviews to ensure accurate cost accounting records to inform future costing analysis.
  • COLLABORATION: Collaborates with cross functional teams to support complex cost control initiatives including pricing strategy development, profitability analysis and cost optimization projects.
  • DECISION SUPPORT: Reviews financial analysis and insights and shares the costing summary to enable strategic decision making, including pricing, product profitability, volumes, differences between standard and forecast and make or buy decisions.
  • COST ANALYSIS & REPORTING: Provides complex analysis to prepare reports for internal partners, including analysis of direct and indirect costs to produce goods and services, inventory valuation, cost of goods and services sold, and variance analysis.
  • BUDGETING & FORECASTING: Leads implementing the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insights on cost assumptions, projections and budget inputs into the system.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced experience with SAP, including Product Costing (CO-PC)
  • Experience designing dashboards and self-service reporting using Power BI, KNIME or other data analytical tools
  • Experience in manufacturing business
Compensation Data

The expected salary for this position is $100,000 - $150,000.Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
