This role is based at Cargill's Global Headquarters in Wayzata, Minnesota and currently offers a hybrid work environment with a minimum of four (4) days in the office and one (1) day remote each week. 

Job Purpose and Impact
  • The Director, Finance - Cargill Risk Management (CRM) is responsible for leading accounting, financial control, product governance, valuation oversight, and finance processes across Cargill Risk Management (CRM). This role serves as a key business partner to commercial, trading, operations, risk and leadership teams, ensuring new products, transactions and strategic initiatives are supported by robust accounting, control, reporting and regulatory frameworks.
Key Accountabilities
  • FINANCE, ACCOUNTING & CONTROL LEADERSHIP: Leads the financial stewardship and accounting governance framework for Cargill Risk Management (CRM), ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, valuation processes, balance sheet management and control execution across the organization. This role provides strategic oversight of accounting implications related to new products, transactions and business initiatives. 
  • REGULATORY & CONTROL FRAMEWORK: Ensures CRM maintains a strong governance and control environment by overseeing compliance with accounting, financial reporting, regulatory and risk management requirements. This role partners with Accounting, Risk, Operations, Compliance and Audit teams to establish effective controls, support regulatory obligations, evaluate new business activities and safeguard the integrity of CRM's financial and operational processes while enabling commercial growth. 
  • VALUATION & MIDDLE OFFICE OVERSIGHT: Provides oversight of CRM's valuation and middle-office processes to ensure accurate mark-to-market reporting, pricing methodologies, transaction controls and financial transparency across trading portfolios. The role partners closely with Trading, Risk, Operations and Technology teams to support new product implementation, strengthen valuation governance and maintain reliable financial reporting and operational controls as the business grows. 
  • LEADERSHIP, TALENT MANAGEMENT & BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP: Leads and develops the CRM Finance and Accounting team, building organizational capabilities, strengthening talent and driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Serves as a strategic partner to commercial, trading, risk, operations and executive leadership teams, providing financial insight and decision support to help achieve CRM's growth and business objectives. 
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement of 6 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 10 years or more of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of commodity trading, OTC derivatives and risk management activities. 
  • Expertise in accounting, valuation, trade lifecycle management and financial controls. 
  • Experience in leading finance transformation and system implementations. 
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to commodity and derivative trading. 
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and large-scale process improvement initiatives. 
Compensation Data

The expected salary for this position is $160,000 - $230,000.Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
