Job Purpose and Impact

The Freight Accounting Operations Supervisor leads North America Freight Audit & Payment execution for the Ag & Trading business, ensuring accurate, timely processing of transportation financial transactions and supporting overall financial control integrity. In this role, the Supervisor oversees daily operational activities, including invoice validation, dispute resolution, accruals, and reconciliations, across a complex, multi-system environment. The position provides people leadership for U.S.-based teams and partners closely with offshore resources to deliver consistent, high-quality execution. This role plays a key part in maintaining business continuity, supporting financial close processes, and enabling ongoing transformation efforts such as SAP deployments.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead day-to-day Freight Audit & Payment operations for the Ag & Trading business, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transportation invoices and financial transactions.
  • Supervise and develop a team of employees, including workload prioritization, coaching, performance management, and team engagement.
  • Ensure strong financial controls, including accruals, reconciliations, and period close support, to maintain accuracy and reduce financial risk.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, Finance, Supply Chain, and Transportation teams to resolve issues, manage escalations, and drive process improvements.
  • Provide oversight and coordination with offshore resources to ensure alignment in execution, quality, and productivity across regions.
  • Monitor operational performance through reporting, metrics, and analytics to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Support system enhancements, issue resolution, and SAP deployment activities, including testing, cutover, and stabilization efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned 
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum one year of directly related work experience
  • Experience supporting financial or operational processes with control and accuracy requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or coordinate work across teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of supervisory experience and team leadership experience 
  • Experience in Freight Audit & Payment, transportation accounting, or logistics finance operations
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems supporting financial or transportation processes
